Irishtinker, I feel your pain. 44 finds and no hitchhikers for me. Seems like
I'm always the person to stamp in right after the hitcher leaves.

I too believe that generally it is best to be surprised by finding a HH, but since there are no rules I set up "HONOR LIBERTY" a little differently. Unfortunately with so few letterboxers in So California it continues to languish at Pt Vicente Lighthouse. Are there any boxers heading toward LA ? Don

Apparently, L.A. stands for Letterboxers Asleep. If no one grabs
that box in the next few days, I'll drive down there. It's just that
slogging along on the swine 405 is one of my least favorite things in
life.
It's an awesome idea for a HH. I'm sure it will see plenty of action
before next September.

Maybe Ryan? He likes to travel. Maybe Funhog? Maybe Amanda? SOMEONE
needs to take it up to the Northwest before it heads East.

Hey, I have a question for all of you vets out there. I am getting
ready to send out a couple of hitch hikers into the real world and
was wondering if anyone has a set script that they put with hitch
hikers to explain them to the finders and what to do. I can
certainly make something up on my own but want to make sure that I
don't forget something. Who knows....maybe they will be planted in
a box near you???!

Silent Doug has a great article on Hitchhiker Etiquette:

The section on "Logging a Hitchhiker" would be perfect for a HH
explanation script.
